Process Steps

Step 1	The Applicant submits a request to the Ministry of food, agrilculture and light industry along with all required documents
Step 2	The Ministry of food, agrilculture and light industry reviews the application
Step 3	If the application gets approved, the applicant receives the Special Permit for importing Tobacco

NOTE:

1. The state administrative body in charge of state specialized inspection shall issue a medical opinion on the hygienic conditions of tobacco production, import, export and sale and the content of toxic substances in tobacco for each type of tobacco.

2. The State Administrative Body Responsible for Customs Matters shall determine the quantity of cigarettes for personal use imported by citizens across the state border.

3. The National Council for Standardization shall approve the maximum permissible levels of chewing gum, nicotine and other toxic substances contained in tobacco produced, sold, imported and exported in the territory of Mongolia, and the standards to be allowed in smoking areas in consultation with the state central administrative body in charge of health.

4. In case of non-compliance with the standards and safety indicators of tobacco raw materials and products, incorrectly labeled, counterfeit products, domestic and external inspections, warnings on imported tobacco, raw materials and exported products were reported on the international organization's information network, items and products shall be withdrawn from the tobacco production, import, trade and service markets and destroyed in accordance with relevant legislation and relevant procedures.
